Dr. Lipp is responsible for the Company's Formulation, Device, and Analytical Development functions as well as the Company's Intellectual Property functions. Dr. Lipp acted as an assistant to Dr. David Edwards during the initial start-up of Pulmatrix in 2003 through 2004 and joined the company full-time as Senior Director of Development and Intellectual Property in 2007. Prior to joining Pulmatrix, Dr. Lipp was Director of Formulation Development at Alkermes, Inc., a position in which he led the efforts of Alkermes in the area of pulmonary dry powder formulation and process development. Dr. Lipp began his career at Advanced Inhalation Research (AIR) Inc. until AIR was acquired by Alkermes in 1999. Dr. Lipp has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and was a National Institutes of Health Post-Doctoral Fellow at M.I.T. in the laboratory of Pulmatrix Founder Robert Langer, where he is currently a Research Affiliate.
