Dr. Hanrahan joins Pulmatrix from Sepracor where he most recently served as Executive Medical Director for Pulmonary Clinical Research. During his six years at Sepracor, he led clinical development activities for the asthma drug Levalbuterol and the COPD drug Arformoterol, through FDA approvals in 2005 and 2006, respectively. At Sepracor, Dr. Hanrahan led the worldwide clinical development of the entire portfolio of projects for pulmonary and internal medicine indications, and served on the Respiratory and Internal Medicine Therapeutic Assessment teams in support of partnering and M&A activities. Prior to joining Sepracor, he held multiple leadership positions spanning clinical development and medical affairs at Boehringer-Ingelheim and Muro Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Hanrahan began his career at Harvard Medical School as a faculty member in pulmonary and emergency medicine and researcher in pulmonary epidemiology, while holding corresponding hospital appointments at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was previously an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the National Centers for Disease Control.
