Robert Connelly has 28 years of experience in the life sciences sector including the last 17 years in serial

entrepreneurial pursuits. Connelly joined Pulmatrix as CEO in January 2008, leading the company’s product development efforts and into clinical trials COPD, CF, and asthma, while raising $53 million in equity and non-dilutive financing. Prior to joining Pulmatrix, Connelly was the CEO of Domantis, Ltd. before selling the company to Glaxo SmithKline for $454 million in cash, the largest valuation paid for a preclinical biotechnology company. Connelly joined Domantis in 2001 as the founding CEO and first employee. Domantis is a drug discovery company developing a pipeline of novel therapies based on the next generation of antibody molecules, fully human domain antibodies (dAbs). Connelly built Domantis into a 75 person organization with 15 therapeutic programs, seven partnerships, and over $80 million in private equity raised. Prior to Domantis, Connelly spent six years with Bioveris, Inc. (acquired by Roche) in the roles of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and General Manager of IGEN's Life Sciences unit. In this capacity, Connelly took a central role in IGEN's commercial and financing activities, raising more than $150 million in public market financing. Connelly spent the first 11 years of his career with Abbott Laboratories in sales, product management, and marketing positions. Connelly also serves as a Director on the Boards of Breathable Foods and Rainier Wines.
Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Harvard University
David Edwards is the Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Biomedical Engineering

at Harvard University, where his work focuses on the fields of fluid mechanics, interfacial transport phenomena, drug delivery, and aerosol science. His current research is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and includes the investigation of the fluid mechanical properties of the lung lining fluid that permit control of expired bioaerosol and mitigation of the spread of inhaled infectious disease, the development of novel antibiotic therapies for tuberculosis, and a new delivery platform for needleless childhood vaccines. Dr. Edwards has published over 70 papers on the aerosol delivery of macromolecules to the lung and a variety of related subjects. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and a Member of the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Edwards is a recipient of numerous awards including the Professional Progress Award of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and is a three time awardee of the Ebert Prize of the American Pharmaceutical Association. He is a member of the Advisory Board at the Center for Civilian Biodefense Strategies at the Johns Hopkins University. He is also the scientific founder of Advanced Inhalation Research (AIR), which was acquired by Alkermes, Inc., and Chairman of the Board of the international not-for-profit Medicine in Need (MEND).

Steven Gillis, Ph.D. is a Managing Director with ARCH, joining the firm as a Venture

Partner in 2005. Dr. Gillis is focused on the evaluation of new life science technologies and also on the development and growth of ARCH's biotechnology portfolio companies. He is a director of Trubion Pharmaceuticals (TRBN), Allozyne, Variation Biotechnologies, Magen BioSciences, Surface Logix, PhaseRx, Accelerator, and Surface Logix. He serves as director and Chairman of VentiRx Pharmaceuticals, Spaltudaq and VLST.
Dr. Gillis was a founder and director of Corixa Corp. and served as the company's CEO from its inception and as its Chairman from 1999 until its acquisition in 2005 by GlaxoSmithKline. Prior to Corixa, Dr. Gillis was a founder and director of Immunex Corp. From 1981 until his departure in 1994, he served as Immunex's Director of Research and Development, Chief Scientific Officer, and as CEO of Immunex's R&D subsidiary. Dr. Gillis was interim CEO of Immunex Corp. following its majority purchase by American Cyanamid Co. and remained a member of the board until 1997. Amgen, Inc. acquired Immunex in 2002.
Dr. Gillis is an immunologist by training with over 300 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of molecular and tumor immunology. He is credited as being a pioneer in the field of cytokines and cytokine receptors, directing the development of multiple marketed products including Leukine, (GM-CSF), Prokine (IL-2) and Enbrel (soluble TNF receptor-Fc fusion protein) as well as the regulatory approval of Bexxar (radiolabeled anti-CD20). Dr. Gillis received a B.A. from Williams College and a Ph.D. from Dartmouth College.

Mr. Graves is a global industry leader with more than twenty years of US and global

general management experience in top-tier US and European based pharmaceutical and biotech companies. He has successfully built and managed several of the largest multi-billion dollar franchises in the industry and developed and launched more than 10 blockbuster brands in a broad range of general medicine, specialty and orphan disease areas. In addition to driving dynamic top and bottom-line growth in global markets, Mr. Graves also played a key leadership role in building two highly successful early stage companies; at Astra Merck Pharmaceuticals and Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Most recently Mr. Graves served as EVP, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Corporate and Strategic Development at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Prior to his tenure at Vertex, he spent nearly ten years at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, most recently as Global Head of the General Medicines Business & Chief Marketing Officer for the Pharmaceuticals division. Prior to his tenure at Novartis, Mr. Graves held several commercial and general management positions at Merck and Astra Merck/Astra Pharmaceuticals where he spent most of his time leading the Business Unit responsible for Prilosec and Nexium.

Mr. Maki has been active in the life sciences venture community for over a decade, having

cofounded Altitude Life Science Ventures, and having previously served as a Principal with Perennial Ventures, and a Vice President with Tredegar Investments. Prior to moving into venture capital, he spent almost two decades at Seed IP Law Group, focusing upon IP strategic planning for healthcare companies. Mr. Maki served as the senior partner within the firm’s biotechnology group, which represented more than 60 life science companies, and also held the positions of Managing Partner and Financial Partner. Mr. Maki is renowned as a industry expert in the development and execution of intellectual property strategies in the healthcare sector.

Terry McGuire is a co-founder and managing general partner of Polaris Venture Partners,

where he focuses on life sciences investments. Prior to starting Polaris, Mr. McGuire spent seven years at Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co. investing in early stage medical and information technology companies. Mr. McGuire began his career in venture capital at Golder, Thoma and Cressey in Chicago. Mr. McGuire has co-founded three companies: Inspire Pharmaceuticals, AIR (Advanced Inhalation Research, Inc.), acquired by Alkermes, Inc., and MicroCHIPS. Mr. McGuire represents Polaris on the boards of directors of Acceleron Pharma, Biolex Therapeutics, GlycoFi, Life Line Screening, Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, MicroCHIPS, Cerulean Pharma, and Trevena. He has also represented Polaris on the boards of Akamai, deCODE, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Aspect Medical Systems, and Transform Pharmaceuticals. Mr. McGuire currently serves on the boards of the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College, the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, and the Advisory Board of the Arthur Rock Center for Entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School. Mr. McGuire holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.S. in engineering from The Thayer School at Dartmouth College, and a B.S. in physics and economics from Hobart College.

Dr. Rocklage joined 5AM Ventures in 2003 as a Venture Partner and became a Managing Partner

in 2004. Dr. Rocklage has over 20 years of healthcare management experience with strategic leadership responsibilities that have resulted in the successful approval of three U.S. New Drug Applications by the FDA (Omniscan™, Teslascan® and Cubicin®), and entered six drug candidates into clinical trials. Dr. Rocklage has served as Chairman & CEO of Cubist Pharmaceuticals, President & CEO of Nycomed Salutar, President, CEO, & Chairman of Nycomed Interventional, and has held various R&D positions at Salutar and Catalytica. Dr. Rocklage currently serves as Board Chairman of Achaogen, Relypsa, and Semprus, as well as on the Boards of WaveRx and Variation, and the Board of Associates at the Whitehead Institute. Dr. Rocklage received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Prior to joining the Option Fund, Lauren was Global Head of Oncology Research Operations

for Novartis. Previously, Lauren spent much of her career in Licensing & Business Development, first at OSI Pharmaceuticals and later at Pfizer with responsibilities in the areas of CNS, ophthalmology and oncology. Lauren was also a Director of Strategic Alliances and Head of Cell Biology after having been a founding scientist of Cadus Pharmaceuticals. Lauren was a postdoctoral fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Princeton University and earned her Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Utah. She is the author of 12 scientific publications and 4 patents.
